# How big is your privacy?

No accounts, no forms, no ads. Here is the little that leaves your browser.

## Counting visits

Google Analytics records the pages you view, your device and browser type, the site that sent you and your approximate location. It sets the `_ga` cookies (up to two years); Google keeps the data for two months and may process it in the United States. In Europe it only runs after you say yes.

## Searching for a place

Places you type go to Nominatim, OpenStreetMap's search service ([their privacy policy](https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy)). "Use my location" stays in your browser.

## Everything else

Your browser keeps your last map position for the visit and your cookie choice. Cloudflare hosts the site, its map tiles and its fonts. Maps embedded on other sites carry no analytics and no cookies.

## Questions

[hello@how-big-is.com](mailto:hello@how-big-is.com). In the EU or the UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
